Public Library Operating, Pay Equity, and First Nation Salary Supplement Grants Program

Description

An application to the Public Library Operating (PLOG), Public Library Pay Equity (PE), and/or First Nation Salary Supplement (FNSS) Grants is completed through one single application form. In order to apply, you are required to meet program eligibility and complete the necessary program requirements for each grant program annually.

Public Library Operating Grants (PLOG)

Library operating grants are statutory under the Public Libraries Act. Library operating funding goes to:

    • Public Library Boards and First Nations public libraries; and
    • Municipalities, Local Service Boards or First Nations that establish a contract for library service with a neighbouring public library board.

Public Library Pay Equity (PE) and First Nation Salary Supplement (FNSS) Grants

Those applicants currently receiving a Public Library Operating Grant who have met all program terms and conditions may be eligible for Public Library Pay Equity and First Nation Salary Supplement grants.

Deadline

The 2012-13 grant program deadline is December 31, 2012.

Eligibility Requirements

The Public Library Operating, Pay Equity and First Nation Salary Supplement Grants are distributed to recipients operating a public library in accordance with the Public Libraries Act, who are currently receiving a Public Library Operating Grant and have met all grant program terms and conditions.

Program Guidelines and Sample Application

To assist applicants to register in Grants Ontario, two tools are available. They are;

The Grants Ontario System Applicant Reference Guide will provide step by step instructions on how to complete the online application in the Grants Ontario System.

Once applicants have registered in Grants Ontario, applicants need to LOGIN using your ONe-Key ID and password to retrieve and complete the online application form for the 2012-13 Public Library Operating, Pay Equity, and First Nation Salary Supplement grants.

All eligible library applicants should review the 2012-13 PLOG/PE/FNSS Program Application Guidelines before completing the online application form in Grants Ontario (GO).

    • Only eligible library applicants, who have received either Pay Equity or First Nation Salary Supplement grants in the past, need to complete the Pay Equity or First Nation Salary Supplement Report and attach the completed report in Grants Ontario. All grant program requirements (i.e.: library service contract, audit, Pay Equity Report, etc) are to be attached in Grants Ontario. Also, applicants will be able to check the status of their applications in the system. Refer to the Grants Ontario System Applicant Reference Guide for information on how to:

  • attach the required grant program documents (page 20);
  • view your submitted application (page 26).

All eligible library applicants must submit an Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) form to the Ministry. The attached EFT form provides detailed instructions. The original signed form must be mailed in to the Ministry.

Submission of the Annual Survey of Public Libraries (ASPL) using the GO-Access system is one of the grant program requirements. The survey is not the application form for funding and must be submitted in addition to the Grants Ontario application before funding is released. Please refer to page 6 of the program guidelines for more detailed information on the ASPL.
