Indigenous Economic Development Fund – Economic Diversification Grant

The Indigenous Economic Development Fund (IEDF) is investing $95 million over ten years in Aboriginal businesses and Indigenous communities in Ontario. The IEDF is part of the larger Jobs & Prosperity Fund, a 10-year, $2.5 billion fund. The funds are meant to help Ontario attract new business and form partnerships by investing in creating jobs, building innovation, increasing productivity and competition in the global market.

The Economic Diversification Grant promotes economic activity in new and emerging economic sectors. The Grant promotes the development of strategies to help Indigenous communities in Ontario broaden their economic base and identify new and/or emerging areas of economic opportunity. Grants also support the use of economic strategies by funding strategic planning that identifies promising economic opportunities. Grants also support feasibility studies and project funding for initiatives that contribute to economic diversification; as well as employment, business, and/or training opportunities.
