2017 CFP - Municipal Immigration Program

Description

The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is issuing this Call for Proposals (CFP) for the purpose of inviting eligible organizations to submit proposals for projects that will improve the attraction and local-level social and economic integration of newcomers to Ontario for consideration under the following programs:

  • Municipal Immigration Information Online (MIIO);
  • Municipal Innovation Fund (MIF);
  • Municipal Immigration Workshop.

Through these programs, the Ministry works with Ontario municipal governments to meet the local needs of the province’s newcomers and to maximize the benefits of immigration for all parts of Ontario. These programs support the implementation of Ontario’s Immigration Strategy, which sets the direction for how the Ministry selects, welcomes and assists immigrants to Ontario. The Strategy has three key objectives:

  • Attracting a skilled workforce and growing a stronger economy;
  • Helping newcomers and their families achieve success; and
  • Leveraging the global connections of our diverse communities to contribute to the prosperity of Ontario.

Deadline

Deadline date for submission of applications has passed.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Municipal Immigration Information Online (MIIO)

Only Ontario municipal governments with completed, live municipal immigration web portals funded under the MIIO program are eligible to apply for funding for enhancements to their existing portals.

2. Municipal Innovation Fund (MIF)

All incorporated municipalities of Ontario, which are recognized as such by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, are eligible to apply to the MIF program.

3. Municipal Immigration Workshop

All incorporated municipalities of Ontario, which are recognized as such by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, are eligible to apply to host the Municipal Immigration Workshop.
